Pollinator Fluffinator

Statement

Using the Latin binomial nomenclature, genus followed by specific epithet, "Pollinator fluffinator" represents my little dog, Orion. He loves to sit outside as pollen falls upon him. As a schnoodle,

cuddle bunny, and fur ball, he is a pollinator in many ways. He picks up dust, pollen, and seeds, then stares at us with his chocolate brown eyes until we acquiesce to provide hugs. Whilst snuggling he shakes his fur and releases the captured pollen, triggering allergic reactions and spreading seeds everywhere.

Techniques

180 blocks are sewn together with arced seams. Each full block is pieced with at least six pieces of fabric, sewn together on a diagonal grid, and quilted with stitch-in-the-ditch.

Materials

Recycled 100% cotton men's shirts, fabrics representing Orion’s favorite foods and outer space.
